Andrzej Fonfara is the (-375) favorite and Chad Dawson is a (+285) underdog, according to Bovada boxing betting odds.
Chad Dawson disappeared from the spotlight after losing his light-heavyweight title to Adonis Stevenson back in 2013. He then suffered a loss to relatively unknown Tommy Karpency in 2014, a fighter whom Fonfara beat via KO.
Although you can blame that loss to Karpency on the fact Dawson injured his left shoulder during the bout. Since having surgery to repair his shoulder, Dawson has rebounded with two wins and will be looking to return to title contention with a win on Saturday.
Andrzej Fonfara was riding high in 2015 after handing Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. his first ever stoppage loss. But, that was short lived as he was knocked out in his last fight by Joe Smith Jr. in a stunning upset.
It has been almost one year since either of these boxers stepped in the ring and it will be interesting to see how they respond. In his prime, Chad Dawson would have been the favorite against Fonfara, though it is unclear if he is be the same fighter he once was.
