The match that many boxing fans have been drooling over is happening when the undefeated Floyd Mayweather fights Canelo Alvarez on September 14, 2013! The fight was announced by Floyd via his twitter and the odds have Floyd Mayweather as a -250 favourite over Canelo!
Floyd tweeted that he had “chose” Canelo Alvarez as his next opponent after previously calling him a “freckle faced f*ck” who needed to “wait his turn”. Many boxing analysts consider Canelo to be a tough test for the veteran Mayweather, and the odds makers seem to think Mayweather is vulnerable here because they have him as only a small -250 favorite. When boxing odds makers set the betting odds for a possible Mayweather v Paquiao fight, they had Floyd at -190.
The bout will be taking place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas at a catch-weight of 152 pounds. The fight is expected to attract a lot of attention, considering Canelo’s popularity in Mexico and the fact he has a legitimate chance of handing Floyd his first loss. The main advantage Canelo has over Floyd Mayweather is size, but according to the Roger Mayweather it won’t help him against Floyd’s experience and cardio. Despite his age, Floyd’s endurance has never been questioned but the young Canelo has shown stamina problems in many of his fights.
