Kevin Mitchell could be in for a tough test when he hosts the little known Canadian Ghislain Maduma this Saturday on the Froch vs Groves 2 undercard.
Kevin Mitchell opened as high as (-250) with UK based sites but gamblers have been backing Maduma and now the odds can found as low as Mitchell (-145) vs Maduma (+115) offshore at SportBet.
The 16-0 Ghislain Maduma is originally from Kinshasa, Congo but now fights out of Montreal, Canada. Not much is known about Maduma because all of his fights took place on small regional cards in Quebec.
In fact, the largest crowd Maduma ever fought in front of was 8,000 and he will be making his first trip outside of Canada to an unfriendly venue that is expected to host 80,000 screaming boxing fans.
Despite this, Maduma’s promoter Camille Estephan feels confident his fighter will come out victorious.
“Ghislain Maduma is truly, right now in my belief, the most underrated fighter in the sport simply because people don’t know him outside of Canada,” Estephan commented. “He’s been in the shadows but on May 31st he will grab this opportunity with all the attention at Wembley Stadium. Based on his skills and character, along with the fantastic camp he had, we are very confident that Ghislain will prevail in his fight against Mitchell.”
