Ricky Burns is hugely popular in his native Scotland, and there will be even more interest in this fight with Adrien Broner rumoured to be attending ringside for a potential international showdown.
Burns would first have to get past Kiryl Relikh, who is 21-0 with 19 knockouts on his record. The heavy-handed belarusian is trained by Ricky Hatton and could pose a problem for Burns, who was upset in his backyard by another European banger in his loss to Dejan Zlaticanin.
Burns has been susceptible to power punchers in the past, as he was down against Zlaticanin and Raymundo Beltran. Although, Relikh does not possess the same experience as the aforementioned fighters and will be at a disadvantage to Burns in that regard, with only 61 rounds boxed in his career.
The bookies seem to be divided as to the odds, with popular UK site Bet365 listing the local fighter at (-350), while offshore site SportBet have the underdog Relikh at (+363) odds, showing considerably more faith in Burns at (-427).
