Chris Eubank Jr. stopped a resilient Renold Quinlan in Round 10 to win the IBF super middleweight title.
The Australian Renold Quinlan definitely came to fight and showed a lot of toughness and a solid chin in his loss to Chris Eubank Jr. in London. He just seemed to be overmatched by the speed and combination punching of the challenger.
Quinlan never actually went down in the fight, but was stopped after continually absorbing punishment. Although Quinlan had his moments of success, the contest was quite one-sided, for the most part.
Quinlan definitely will draw valuable experience from this fight and take that back to the Australian domestic boxing scene. As for Eubank Jr., he has stated that he will not be staying at super middleweight indefinitely, and expressed interest in a fight with Gennady Golovkin or a rematch with Billy Joe Saunders at middleweight.
