Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez Loses in Massive Upset

As a 25-to-1 favorite, the undefeated Roman 'Chocolatio' Gonzalez lost to Thailand's Wisaksil in a bloody, action-packed slugfest that was the biggest upset in Thailand's boxing history.

Chocolatito was on nearly every pound-for-pound list and many were drawing comparisons with Mayweather due to his 46 fight undefeated streak (which he claimed also included over 80 amateur fights without a loss).

However, it just didn't seem to be Chocolatito's night as he was knocked down in the 1st round, then he suffered a cut over his right eye due to an accidental clash of heads in the 3rd. Chocolatito would complain to referee Steve Willis that the headbutts were intentional and Wangek was docked a point in 6th round for leading with his head.

The story of the fight was the relentless pressure applied by Wangek, and it appeared as though Chocolatito, who spent most of his career at flyweight, was having trouble with the size of his opponent at 114 lbs. Chocolatito had his moments, but it didn't seem to be enough in the judges eyes, though many boxing fans thought he did enough to win.

The betting odds had Chocolatito as a (-2500), or 25-to-1 favorite. The odds for Wangek to win by decision were (+3300), which means that if you bet $100 to on Wangek to win by decision you would get $3300 on your return!
